போர்ட்பிளேயர் அரிமா சங்கத்தின் புதிய நிர்வாகிகள் வருகின்ற 12-9-2010 மாலை 6.00 மணிக்கு அரிமா.நாதன் அவர்கள் தலைமையில் போர்ட்பிளேயர் பேஐலண்ட் ஐந்து நட்சத்திர ஹோட்டலில் புதிய பாதையை அறிவிக்கும் நிகழ்சியாக நடக்கவிருக்கிறது.

போர்ட்பிளேயர் அரிமா சங்கம் உலக மங்கையைர் தின நிகழ்ச்சியை பத்துபஸ்த்தி பள்ளியில் நலிந்த பெண்களுக்கு சேலை வழங்கும் விழாவாக அடத்தியது. அந்தமான் போர்ட்பிளேயர் அரிமா சங்கத் தலவர் அரிமா.முத்து எம்.ஜே.எப். அவர்கள் நிகழ்ச்சியைத் தொடங்கி வைத்தார்.
சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக துணை கமிசனைர்.திரு. மாத்தூர் (Shri. Maaththur. IAS dy. commissioner Andaman Nicobar Islands.)அவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டார்.
பாத்து பஸ்த்தி பஞ்சாயத்துத் தலைவர் திரு வெ.வெள்ளைக்கண்ணு அவர்கள் அனைவரையும் வரவேற்றுப் பேசினார். அதன் ஒரு பகுதி வருமாறு
“ இன்றைய தினம் உலக மங்கையைர் தினம். இந்த தினத்தை எனது கிராம பஞ்சாயத்துப் பகுதியிலே குறிப்பாக இந்தப் பள்ளி வளாகத்திலே ஏழை எளிய மங்கையர்களுக்கும் எளிய தாய்மார்களுக்கும் இன்று சேலைகள் இலவசமாக் கொடுத்து அவர்களைப் பாது காக்கும் வகையிலே முற்ச்சியெடுத்து வருகின்ற அரிமா சங்கத்தலைமைக்கு என் சார்பிலும் எனது பஞ்சாயத்தினர் சார்பிலும் நன்றியினைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். அரிமா சங்கம் தொடங்கி இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளுக்குள் இந்தத் தீவு முழுவதிலும் பல் வேறு நர்பணிகளைச் செய்து வருகிறது. போர்ட்பிளேயர் நகரில் பேருந்து பயணியர் நிழற்குடைகள் இல்லாத எல்லா இடங்களிலும் பேருந்து பயணியர் நிழற்குடைகள் அமைத்தும், ஏழை எளிய மக்களுக்கு வண்டி வாகனங்கள் கொடுத்தும், பார்வைக் குறைபாடுகள் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு கண்ணொளி வழங்கும் வகையில் கண்ணாடிகள் வழங்கியும் பல்வேறு நால்ல சேவைகளை செய்து வருகிறது.
அதுபோல் எங்கள் கிராம மக்களும் பயனடைய வேண்டும் என்ற உயர்ந்த நோக்கத்தோடு இங்கு வந்திருக்கின்ற அரிமா சங்கத்தினருக்கு எனது வாழ்த்துக்களைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். இரண்டு நாட்களுக்கு முன்பு அரிமாசங்கத் தலைவர் அரிமா.முத்து எம்.ஜே.எப். அவர்கள் என்னை அணுகி ஏழை எளிய மக்களுக்கு சேலை வழ்ங்கும் திட்டத்தைக் கூறி உங்கள் பகுதியில் உள்ள ஏழை எளிய மங்கையர்களுள் 23 பேர்களின் பெயர்களை எழுதித்தருமாறு கூறினார். அதன்படி 23 மிகவும் பின்தங்கிய ஏழை எளிய தாய்மார்களின்பெயர்களை தேர்ந்தெடுத்து எழுதிக் கொடுத்துள்ளேன். இது போல இன்னும் பல தாய்மார்களுக்கும் அரிமா சங்கம் மேலும் பலப்பல உதவிகள் செய்யும் திட்டங்களை செய்து தருமாறு அன்புடன் கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறேன். அரிமாசங்கம் மேன்மேலும் வளர்ந்து நலிவடைந்த மக்களுக்கு நல்லாதரவு தந்து, வாழ்க வாழ்க என்று வாழ்த்தி விடை பெறுகிறேன்.

நாங்கள் அரசு இயக்கமான Central agricultural Research Institute மூலம் விவசாயிகளுக்கு விழிப்புணர்வு நவீன விவசாய தொழில் நுட்பங்கள் மற்றும் உதவிகள் செய்து வருகிறோம். ‘Kendriya Krishya Santhan Anusanthaan’ மூலமாக இரண்டு சமூகப் பணிகளைச் செய்துள்ளோம்.
1. மங்குள்ட்டான் கிராமத்தில் மகளிர் சங்கம் அமைத்து உள்ளோம். அங்கு இரண்டு தையல் எந்திரங்கள் வழங்கியுள்ளோம்.
2. மாண்பு மிகு. அந்தமான் துணை ஆளுநர் அவர்கள் மூலம் மான்பூர் கிராமத்திற்கும் இரண்டு தையல் எந்திரங்கள் கொடுத்துள்ளோம். மேலும் எழை மாணவர்க்ளுக்கு நோட்டுப் புத்தகங்கள், பென்சில் பேனா போன்றவைகள் கொடுத்துள்ளோம். இவை அனைத்தும் CARI என்று அழைக்கக் கூடிய Central agricultural Research Institute சார்பாக அரசு மூலம் நாங்கள் தருகிறோம்.
ஆனால் அரிமா சங்கம் ஆற்றியிருக்கிற பணி மகத்தானது. பேருந்து நிழற்குடைகள், நெருப்பினால் ஏற்பட்ட சேதமடைந்த மக்களுக்கான உதவிகள், காலிக்காட் கிராமத்தில் பல கண்பார்வையற்றவர்களுக்கு கண்ணொளி நல்கிய சேவை, இன்று சேலை வழங்கும் நிகழ்ச்சி இப்படி கடந்த இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளுக்குள் அரிமா சங்கத்தின்பணி வியப்படைய வைக்கும் பணியாகும். இத்தகைய அரிமா சங்கத்தின் சமுதாயப் பணிகள் மேன் மேலும் வளர்ந்து செழிப்படைய வாழ்த்துகிறேன்.

உலக மகளிர் தின வாரமாக உலகம் முழுதும் இந்த வாரம் கொண்டாடி வருகிறோம். அதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக இன்று இந்தப் பள்ளி வளாகத்தில் அந்தமான் போர்ட்பிளேயர் அரிமா சங்கத்தின் சார்பாக பெண்களுக்கு சேலை வழங்கி கெளரவப்படுதும் அரிமாக்களின் பணியை மனமார வாழ்த்துகிறேன்.
இந்த சமுதாயத்தில் பெண்களுக்கு இன்னும் அநீதி இழைக்கப்படுகின்றது. பெண்களுக்கு எவ்வளவு மதிப்பும் மரியாதையும் கொடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று பேசினாலும் அத்துணை அளவு மதிப்பும் மரியாதையும் இன்றும் பெண்களுக்கு கிடைக்கவில்லை. ஆணாதிக்கம். ஆம், ஆணாதிக்க சமுதாயமாகத்தன் இன்றும் இந்த பூமி உள்ளது. ஆண்களாகிய நாம்தான் இதை உணர்ந்து திருந்த வேண்டும். நம்மை பெற்றவள் ஒரு பெண், நம்மோடு வாழ்பவள் ஒரு பெண் என்பதை உணர்ந்து இந்த நன்னாளில் இதற்காக என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பதை திட்டமிட வேண்டும். அதன்படி செயலாற்ற வேண்டும்.

நமது நாட்டுக்கொடியை வணங்கி அதற்கு உண்மையாக நடந்து கொள்வோம் என்று உறுதிமொழி கூறுகிறோம்.

உலக நாடுகளின் மத்தியில் நமது தாயின் மணிக்கொடி செம்மாந்து பட்டொளி வீசிப் பறந்திடச் செய்வோம்.

History and Growth of Lionism in India.

An American Army officer Lion Robert Williams came to India as a Scouts officer in February 1956 and came in contact with the Late Lion Noshir K.J.Khan , who was running a Scouts Troop as a Scouter and also with the then State Commissioner Comdr. Kaiki B.Godrej. This initial meeting , between the three Scouts officers resulted in friendship between them and correspondence started between Lion Robert Wiliams of Saxton,USA and Lion Noshir K.J.Khan.

In 1956 Mr. Noshir N.Pundole was deputed to an American Scout Jamboree held at Valley Forge Pennysilvania as leader of a groupof eight Souts and Comdr.Kaiki B Godrej followed him to the Scouts Jamboree in the capacity of Deputy Commissioner of All India Souts. Being and old friend of the Late Mr. Noshir K.J.Khan, Lion Robert Williams became a host to the natch of visiting Scouts under the change of Mr. Noshir N.Pundole and Commissioner Kaiki B.Godrej. It was as at ehe time, Mr. Noshir N. Pundole expressed a dream and a wish that it would ne nice to have the Lions Movement introduced India.

In 1956, When the International Association of Lions Culb seriously though to starting Lions International movement in Inda, Lion Shafeeque A Mansour, who was the Internationasl Delegate. Overseas of Lions International contacted Mr. N.K.J.Khan, Mr. N.Poundole and comdr. Kaiki B.Godrej simultaneously. Lion Mansour later made visit to India to Voimbay and Delhi. It is but natural that the very distinct Lions Club of Saxan, to which Lion Robert Williams belonged , sponsored these two

Clubs established first in India. Whilst Lions Club of Bombay was Inaugurated first, Lion Club of Delhi was Chartered first, Both being sponsored by Lion Club of Saxton RA.

Whilst all the three Lions the late Noshir K.J.Khan, the late Lion Kaiki B.Godrej and Lion Noshir N.Pundole can be said to be founding father of Lionism in India , it fell to the fortunate lot of Lion Noshir N.Pundole to be the fortunate lot of Lion Noshir N.Pundole to be the first District Governor of Combined District Governor of Combined District 304, comprising India, Burma and Ceylon, from 1956 to 1959. India should be and is proud of its contribution to Lionism . A country which started as the 68^th entrant in lionism stands second numerically supported byu significant contribution to humanitarian work second to none in the world.

HOW YOU CAN BRING BACK THE LIGHT
A simple cornea Transplant can restore sight to most of them, yet sadly, in a year only4500 such operations are performed in India. We need a fat greater number of healthy corneas, because only a healthy Cornea donated by another human being can replace the useless one in a blind person’s eyes.

This is where you can help. By pledging to donate your eyes after the life, To begin with, you should sign the Pledge Card. Lion Eye Bank will register you as an Eye Donor and send you a Certificate cum Eye Donor Card with the name , address and telephone numbers of the Eye Bank for you to catty the Card with you.

INVOLVE YOUR FAMILY
Simply the act of your pledging may ensure that your wish will be fulfilled. Because it would hardly be the first though to occur to the grief-stricken relatives. That is, unless you do something now to make sure that when the time comes your eyes will actually be donated the pledge will not be fulfilled.

Discuss Eye Donation with your family. They must take the responsibility to inform the nearest Eye bank immediately after death. Whichever eye Bank immediately after death? Whichever eye bank is the nearest should be called, irrespective of where you have registered, hence we encourage the idea of a whole family you pledging. That way, everyone will take a pride in being able to participate in a small miracle. The miracle of bringing light to a behind person’s life.

BASICFACT SAMOUT EYE DONATION;
1. Almost anyone of any age can donate eyes even if the donor wears glasses, has cataract or undergone eye surgery successfully.
2. The eyes have to be removed within 6 hours of death. So the nearest Eye Bank must be informed immediately after death. Close the eyelids and place a wet cloth ice piece over them.
3. The Eye Bank will rush a doctor to your home.
4. Eye removal takes only 10-15 minutes and leaves no scar of disfigurement.
5. Your donation gives sight to two blind persons. One blind person is given one eye at a time due to shortage.
6. The law provides that you can authorize the donation oft the eyes of a deceased relative if he/she had never said anything against his/her eye donation
7. On reaching the Eye Bank the eyes are examined, preserved and used in a Cornea Transplant within 72 hours.

அந்தமானில் அரிமா சங்கம் 30-6-1996 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டது. சார்டட் பிரசிடென்ட் என்று ஆங்கிலத்தில் அழைக்கப்படுகின்ற அந்தமான் அரிமா சங்கதொடக்கத் தலைவர் திரு அ. மாணிக்கம் அவர்கள் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கபட்டார். இரண்டாம் ஆண்டு அந்தமான் அரிமா சங்கத் தலைவராக திரு.கண்ணன் அவர்கள் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார்.

அந்தமானில் அரிமா சங்கத்தின் இரண்டாம் ஆண்டு விழா மெகாபெட் நெஸ்ட் என்று அழைக்கப் படுகின்ற அந்தமான் அரசு விருந்தினர் மாளிகையில் 2-12-1997 மாலை 6.00 மணியளவில் நடை பெற்றது. அவ்வமையம் தமிழகத்தில் இருந்து வருகை புரிந்த அரிமா மாவட்டம் 324 பி4 இன் ஆளுநர் திரு. முருகப்பன் MJF அவர்கள் ஆற்றிய உரயின் ஒரு பகுதி.

இந்த இயக்கத்திலே தொண்டும் தோழமையும் இரண்டு கண்களாகக் கொண்டு இந்த அரிமா சங்கங்களும் அரிமாக்களும் பாடுபட்டு வருகிறார்கள். இந்த சங்கங்கள் ஆற்றுகின்ற பணிகளிலேயே ஒரு மனிதனை தெய்வமாக்கக் கூடிய அளவிற்கு அவர்களுடைய பணி அதை பெறுகின்றவர்களிடையே உள்ளத்திலே பதிகின்றது. மனிதனை தெய்வமாக முடியுமா என்றால் முடியும் என்கிறார் ஒரு கவிஞர்.

மனிதன் என்பவன் தெய்வமாகலாம்

வாரி வாரி வழங்கும் போது வள்ளலாகலாம்

வாழைபோலத் தன்னைத் தந்து தியாகியாகலாம்

உருகியோடும் மெழுகு போல ஒளியை வீசலாம்

மனமிருந்தால் பறவைக்கூட்டில் மான்கள் வாழலாம்

வழியிருந்தால் காட்டிற்குள்ளே மலையைக்காணலாம்

துணிவிருந்தால் தலைவனென்ற சுமையை சுமக்கலாம்

இதைத்தான் பெரியவர்கள் “தர்மம் தலைகாக்கும் தக்க சமயத்தில் உயிர்காக்கும்” என்று சொல்லி இருக்கிறார்கள்.

தொண்டு என்று பார்க்கும் போது இந்த போர்ட்பிளேயர் அரிமாசங்கம் இந்த ஆண்டு மிகுதியான ப்ராஜெக்ட்களை செய்திருக்கிறார்கள். போர்ட்பிளேயர் நகரில் பல பேருந்து பயணியர் நிழற்குடைகள் மிகச்சிறந்த முறையிலே அமைக்கப்பட்டு அவை பொது மக்களுக்கு மிகவும் பயன்பட்டு வருகின்றன. அதனால்தான் எமக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்ட புகைப்படங்களை நம்முடைய அரிமா மாவட்ட செய்தித்தாளிலே அந்த புகைப்படத்தை இடம் பெறச்செய்தேன். அந்த அளவிற்குஅது ஒரு சிறப்பான நிழற்குடையாக அமைந்து இருக்கின்றது. இந்த ஆண்டு நமது சங்கத்தைச் சேர்ந்த அரிமா. கண்ணன் அவர்கள் இந்த பேருந்து பயணியர் நிழற்குடைகளுக்கான மாவட்டத் தலைவர் என்ற காரணத்தாலே போட்டி போட்டுகோண்டு ஆற் பேருந்து பயணியர் நிழற்குடைகள் அமைப்பதாக கேள்விப்பட்டபோது மிகவும் மகிழிசியடைந்தேன். இந்தப்போட்டி நீடூழி வாழட்டும் என்று வாழ்த்துகிறேன். தோழமை என்று பார்க்கும் போது மற்ற மாவட்ட அரிமாக்கள் உங்கள் சங்கத்தைப்பற்றி அவர்கள் எங்களிடத்தில் தொலை பேசியில் கூறும்போதும் அவர்களை நான் சந்திக்கும் போதும் அவர்கள் நிறைவேற்றும் கடமைகளைப் படிக்கும் போதும் எனக்குள் ஏற்படுகின்ற ஆனந்தங்கள் அலாதியானது.

I am proud to be a Lion என்று அடிக்கடி சொல்வார்கள். அதனுடைய உண்மையான அர்த்தம் உங்களைப் பற்றி மற்றவர்கள் எங்களிடத்திலே கூறுவது. இந்த சங்க எங்கள் மாவட்டத்திலே இருக்கிறது என்ற வகையிலே நாங்கள் மிக மிக மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறோம். அவர்கள் சொல்வது மட்டுமல்ல இன்று நாங்களே உணர்ந்தோம். இன்று காலையிலிருந்து இந்த நேரம் வரை எங்களைவிட்டு பிரியாது அன்பு காட்டி அளவளாவியது எங்கள் நெஞ்சை நெகிழச்செய்கிறது. கடல் கடந்து மொழி பேசத்தெரியாத நாடு என்ற எங்களின் நினைப்பை இது தமிழ்நாடுதான் என்று எண்ண வைத்தது. அந்த அளவிற்கு தோழமையோடு அனைத்து அரிமாக்களுமே அவர்கள் தங்கள் அன்பை வெளிப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார்கள். இன்று நாங்கள் விமானத்தில் இருந்து இறங்கியபோது அத்தனை 43 அரிமாக்களுமே விமான நிலையத்திற்கு வந்து எங்களை வரவேற்றது மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியை அளித்தது. அத்துடன் அரிமா மகளிரும் கூடி நின்று வரவேற்றது இங்கே நான் முதலிலே கூறியதைப் போல அரிமா குடும்பம் ஒரு குடும்பமாக காட்சி அளித்ததை நான் என்றும் மறவேன். இந்த சங்கத்தின் சேவைகளை நான் மனமாற பாராட்டுகிறேன். இந்த சிறப்பான நாளிலே இந்த நிகழ்சியிலே பங்கேற்றதில் மழ்ச்சியடந்து எனது உரையை முடிப்பதற்கு முன்புகாக சில அரிமா பொத்தான்களையும் நமது மாவட்ட சான்றிதழ்களையும் அளிப்பதிலே நான் பெருமை அடைகிறேன்.
